Tweedies operates from the building that was formerly the Dale Lodge Hotel, on the edge of Grasmere village, under the registered company Dale Lodge Hotel, trading as Tweedies Bar and Lodge. The bar has built a local reputation for keeping a changing range of cask ales from small breweries, served alongside a lunch and dinner menu in the adjoining restaurant. Sixteen individually decorated bedrooms and four mews-style rooms sit above and beside the bar, run as one family-owned business rather than a chain property. The pub has been a finalist for Pub of the Year at the Cumbria Tourism awards. Food is served for lunch every day except Sunday, when a single all-day menu runs instead, and dinner service continues into the evening across the week. The bar itself stays open from midday until 11pm daily. It draws a mix of walkers off the fells above Grasmere and residents of the village, with the character of an ale house rather than a hotel function room.
