Tyne Valley Garden Centre sits above Mickley village near Stocksfield, on a site that began as a 1920s market garden supplying leek and tomato plants to local pitmen. Several original timber glasshouses remain in use. The family-run centre now sells trees, shrubs, houseplants, tools and garden furniture, with a café on site serving food prepared daily.
