Simon and Dawn Miles started brewing in January 2012 at Whitehouse Farm Centre near Morpeth, trading first as Brew Star until a legal challenge from Brewsters Brewery forced a rename to Anarchy Brew Co. Some of that history survives in the beer names, with a Blonde and a bitter still sold under stylised spellings rather than their original plain ones. The brewery moved to larger premises on Benfield Road in Newcastle in 2018, adding a taproom alongside the brewing kit. Cask and keg lines run from session pale ales through to stronger stouts, most sold on-site or to pubs within a short drive. Visitors can watch brewing through the taproom windows on production days rather than book a formal tour.
