Pet Lamb is Katie and Kay's patisserie, a two-woman stall in Newcastle's grand Victorian Grainger Market that started from a folding table in 2009 and took its own unit in 2012. Everything — cakes, cupcakes, tray bakes — is baked by the pair, sold from a corner of one of the country's finest covered markets. It is exactly the sort of small, self-made independent that keeps a historic market alive. Go for the cake, and the building.
