The Eveleighs have farmed Washingpool since the 1970s — John, Joyce and Noel to begin with, Gillian and Alan now, with the third generation and their spouses in the business. Eighty acres produce the farm's own Ruby Red beef, eggs, fruit, vegetables and flowers; the shop tops up from more than a hundred local producers, and the Farmer's Kitchen serves breakfast and lunch six days a week. Taste of the West gold has followed in every year the farm has entered since 2005. Closed Sundays.
