West End Butchers has traded from 11 West Road in Peterhead since 1957, making it one of the town's last independent butchers. David Sandison started at the shop as a message boy in 1973 and, together with business partner Graham Barron, took over the business in 1995. The counter carries locally sourced beef, lamb and pork alongside wet fish landed at Peterhead harbour, with cold meats, pies and ready meals made on the premises each day. The shop has traded from the same West Road site throughout its history, with no branches elsewhere. Its longevity has made it a fixture of the town's high street, remembered by generations of local customers for its home-made produce and harbour-fresh fish.
