A small museum in Dufftown covering whisky making in days gone by and the lives and times of whisky smugglers. Many exhibits, among them illicit stills and other tools of manufacture, came from local distillers and HM Custom and Excise. Charles Maclean, then editor of Whisky Magazine, opened it in 2002; after the move from its old premises in March 2009 Dufftown 2000 bought the adjoining property, now gutted, for a larger museum and heritage centre. Open 1 April to 30 October, 10am to 4pm.
