Lynne Atkinson manages Whitehouse Gallery on St Mary Street in Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway's artists' town. The gallery opened in 2004 and marked its twentieth anniversary in 2024 with an exhibition featuring twenty exhibiting artists, among them Heather Davies RSW and Joyce Gunn Cairns MBE. Five to six shows rotate through the space each year, mixing landscape and figurative painting with glass, mosaic, ceramics, jewellery and textiles from across Scotland. The front rooms hold sculpture and applied craft alongside framed work, reflecting a stated aim of pairing established names with newer makers. Opening hours run Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 16:00, rather than the seasonal hours common among smaller studios nearby.
