The Masonic Arms occupies a building put up by local Freemasons in 1785 on Ann Street in Gatehouse of Fleet. Business partners Sofia Perez Liano, Jimmy Harvey and Richard Gidney took the pub on as tenants in 2013 and bought the freehold in 2017, since adding five ensuite bedrooms behind the original bar. Harvey cooks, Perez Liano runs front of house and Gidney manages the cellar and bar, which pours real ales alongside a full spirits range. The kitchen serves a daily-changing menu and a Sunday carvery, with a beer garden and dog-friendly bar for walkers passing through on the Southern Upland Way. A recent refurbishment restored much of the original stonework while updating the guest rooms.
