Gladstone House

Gladstone House is a Georgian townhouse on Kirkcudbright's High Street, run as a three-room bed and breakfast by owners Malcolm and Jonathan. The house looks out over the Tolbooth opposite and backs onto a walled garden guests are free to use during their stay. Malcolm and Jonathan bake their own bread each morning and make their own preserves and chutneys for the breakfast table, following a fair trade policy for goods they cannot produce themselves. All three bedrooms are ensuite with tea and coffee trays and Wi-Fi, and the first-floor drawing room retains its Georgian proportions and cornicing. The house takes guests from Easter to November and asks for a two-night minimum stay. Children under twelve and pets cannot be accommodated.
