Bewdley Brewery began brewing in May 2008 inside a former Victorian school building on Lax Lane, the first brewery to operate in the town since 1912, when a brewer named William Mucklow ran a strong dark mild from a site on Severnside South that later became a veterinary practice. The ten-barrel plant now produces five regular cask ales alongside seasonal beers and monthly specials, supplying local pubs and selling bottles that reach shelves as far as the nearby Severn Valley Railway. A Brewery Tap bar stands to one side of the site, its window looking onto the fermentation room, decorated with a collection of pub, brewery, and railway memorabilia. The tap pours the house beers plus a rotating guest, open Tuesday to Thursday evenings, all day Friday and Saturday, and Sunday lunchtime.
