Black Star

The Black Star stands by the Stourport canal basin in a converted 18th-century chapel, restored in 2016 and run as an independent free house rather than tied to any pub company. Four regular cask ales, mostly from Herefordshire's Wye Valley Brewery, share the bar with five rotating guest beers and two ciders on handpull. Wyre Forest CAMRA has named it Pub of the Season three times over recent years, taking gold in 2020, and it holds Cask Marque's five-star hygiene rating. The garden runs down toward the canal, with live music Friday and Saturday nights and an acoustic set on Sunday.
