The Book Case sits on Market Street in Hebden Bridge, the small Pennine mill town with an outsized independent streak, and has been the town's bookshop since 2011 — a proper general shop of books, stationery and cards, run for a community that reads and buys local as a matter of principle. Hebden is the sort of place that keeps its independents by choosing them, and a good bookshop is central to that. In the steep-sided Calder valley, it is exactly the shop such a town should have. Go in out of the Pennine rain and browse.
