Maitala Ceramics

Maitala Ceramics is a home-based pottery studio run by Elsa Schnebelenbulot from 2 Oak View in Luddenden Foot, on the edge of Halifax. Schnebelenbulot teaches hands-on classes, including a Make Your Own Mug session aimed at couples and individuals with no previous experience of clay. Beyond teaching, she throws and hand-builds plant pots, mugs, candle holders and egg cups for sale through an online boutique and at pottery market stalls around Calderdale. The studio frames pottery as a slow, repetitive craft suited to a relaxed pace rather than a quick souvenir activity. Classes run in small groups so Schnebelenbulot can give individual guidance at the wheel or with hand-building tools. Finished pieces are collected once fired and glazed.
