Thorpe House is a Grade II listed Georgian mansion at Triangle, on the edge of Sowerby Bridge, built in 1804 for a local mill owner. Arnold Williams, Liberal MP for Sowerby in the 1920s, lived there, and during the Second World War it served as officers' quarters for the Royal Engineers before standing empty for twelve years. The same family bought the house in 1957 and restored it, retaining period features such as Lincrusta plasterwork through the renovation. It now operates as a bed and breakfast with ensuite guestrooms, set in five acres of grounds with woodland and a private lake. A cooked English breakfast is included, and there is a coffee shop on site for guests. Free parking is available within the grounds.
