Revo Records has traded in Halifax since 1987, when it was founded by Nick Simonet, starting out at Bull Green before moving to Northgate and then to its current unit in the Westgate Arcade, where it has been based for over two decades. The shop stocks new and secondhand vinyl spanning punk, reggae, soul, jazz, folk, electronic, krautrock and mainstream genres, alongside CDs. Simonet ran the business for 35 years before retiring in 2022 and selling it to Dave Forshaw, who also runs a record shop in Skipton. Revo Records takes part in Record Store Day each year, collecting customer wish lists in advance to help gauge stock for the limited pressings that sell out fastest. The shop is open six days a week in the Westgate Arcade, a short walk from Halifax town centre and the Piece Hall, and remains one of the town's longest-running independent record retailers.
