Coffeevolution has poured speciality coffee at 8 Church Street since November 2000, opening as Huddersfield's first independent coffee shop within walking distance of the railway station. Jeremy Perkins, named as director in Companies House filings correspondence to the same address, runs it as a family business alongside sister company Bean Brothers Coffee Company, which roasts small batches at Fairfield Mills. The house blend, Derek, carries notes of cocoa, almond biscotti and apricot. Baristas work espresso, V60, Aeropress and Chemex methods alongside a menu of breakfasts, lunches, pastries and cakes. Fairtrade and organic sourcing guide buying decisions where suppliers allow. Trade draws students, office workers and long-standing regulars. Doors open Monday to Saturday from 7am and Sunday from 9am.
