Linda Byers designs and hand-makes every piece sold at Byers & Co, the jewellery workshop she opened on George Street in Perth in 2014. Most pieces begin as a hand drawing before being made using traditional goldsmithing techniques, with many produced as one-off commissions rather than repeated designs. The workshop uses conflict-free and fair trade stones where possible and recycles gold on site rather than sourcing new metal for every piece. Byers & Co also runs wedding ring workshops, letting couples make their own rings under Byers' guidance rather than buying off the shelf. The George Street shop sits among Perth's cluster of independent traders and focuses on silver, gold and platinum work rather than costume jewellery.
