Diane Brown opened her deli on Perth's George Street in 2005 and spent nearly two decades building it into one of Scotland's serious food shops — over two thousand lines, one of the country's biggest cheese counters, a wall of more than a hundred gins, and a Wee G&T Festival she started in 2016. In February 2024 she handed it on to Ed Murdoch and Elle Whitby, the couple behind Fig & Fromage in Newport-on-Tay, who now run the two shops as a small Tayside pair. The formula holds: cheese cut to order, Scottish charcuterie and bakery, the sort of stock a good cook drives across the county for. A Deli of the Year finalist at UK level and a regular in the Scottish food awards, it is the kind of independent that anchors a market town's eating — the place you go when the supermarket won't do. Closed Sundays; worth timing a Perth visit around.
