Clay &Co

Clay & Co is an open-access ceramics studio on Bartholomew Street in Newbury, led by ceramist Cáit Gould, who has more than two decades of experience in the medium. The studio runs one-off workshops in wheel-throwing, hand-building and decoration from £55, five-week courses in daytime and evening formats, and flexible studio memberships for people who want ongoing access to wheels and kilns. Private throwing lessons and group sessions can be booked separately, and gift vouchers are sold for both. Gould describes the space as low-pressure and aimed equally at complete beginners and returning makers building a home practice. Opening times vary through the week: Tuesday to Friday evenings from 6pm to 8pm, Saturday from midday to 8pm, Sunday midday to 5pm, and Monday by appointment only.
