Clayshape PotteryStudio

Clayshape Pottery Studio occupies a purpose-built oak and glass studio on The Avenue in Wivenhoe, set up by Nicky in autumn 2016 after garden outbuildings proved too small for the wheels and kiln. Classes run in groups of up to eight adults or as individual tuition, covering hand-building and throwing, with children's sessions teaching coil-pot animals and decorative tiles to five to ten year olds. Adult evening classes are paired with wine, and the studio also runs mindfulness-focused sessions built around working with clay. Sarah Waters, who is completing a degree in 3D design, teaches alongside Nicky.
