Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club plays over a links course laid out by James Braid on the dunes between Embleton and Dunstanburgh Castle, with the ruined castle visible from several holes. The club has operated as a members' course for more than a century, having marked its 125th anniversary in recent years, and takes visiting golfers alongside its membership. It runs as a single independent club rather than a chain of courses.
