Exel Wines began trading in Perth in 2009, initially sourcing fine wine and Bordeaux first growths before opening its retail shop on South Street. The small shop stocks fine wines, rare and collectible whisky, and a range of spirits and liqueurs, alongside a selection of Scottish craft beers and ciders. Staff work closely with the fine-wine side of the business, which sources vintages from around the world and holds a fine-wine vault, giving the shop access to bottles not always found on general high-street shelves. The South Street premises functions as both retail counter and public face of the wider wine-trading operation, with staff on hand to talk through options for gifts, cellaring or everyday drinking.
