Foundry was Sheffield's first speciality coffee roastery when it started in 2012, and has stayed a small, fully independent business roasting single-origin coffee at the Cutlery Works food hall in Neepsend. It describes itself, pointedly, as a small, tax-paying, independent company, and has paid the Real Living Wage since 2018 — the kind of quiet principle that tells you how it is run. It supplies cafés across the city and sells its beans direct, with new single-origin drops through the year. In a city that has taken to good coffee, Foundry is one of the roasters that got it there.
