Galloway Distillery

Galloway Distillery occupies a visitor centre just off the A75 roundabout on Wigtown Road, on the edge of Newton Stewart. Known until 2025 as Crafty Distillery, it produces Hills & Harbour gin alongside the Sassenach range of gin, vodka, and blended whisky, and is now co-owned by actor Sam Heughan and Alex Norouzi. The shop opens Monday to Saturday, ten until five, selling spirits made on site. Standard guided tours run at set times through the week and include a tasting; private and manager's tours can be booked for smaller groups wanting more depth, including unreleased spirits. The visitor centre looks out over the Galloway hills from its tasting room. It operates as a single site, with production, bottling, and retail under one roof at Newton Stewart.
