Goldstar Records

Goldstar Records is an independent record shop on Fonthill Road in Ferryhill, run by Reuben Lakowski, who trades as Goldstar Records Ltd (Companies House SC650736, incorporated January 2020). Lakowski began selling vinyl from his own collection online after losing his job shortly before the pandemic, then opened this physical shop in February 2023. The business buys, sells and trades predominantly used vinyl across genres, alongside cassettes, CDs, musical instruments, hi-fi separates and retro video games and consoles, with stock turning over quickly from local sellers and collections bought in over the counter. Goldstar also produces the Feed Your Soul podcast, discussing music and record collecting, and takes part in Record Store Day. A short walk from Duthie Park and Aberdeen railway station, it draws collectors from across the North-East. The shop trades six days a week and is closed on Mondays.
