Pete and Sue Fraser have run the chippy on Arwenack Street for more than twenty-five years, and they run it seriously: Independent Fish and Chip Restaurant of the Year at the national awards in 2017, a Fry Magazine top-ten listing in 2023, and a commitment made over a decade ago that every fish served is responsibly sourced. The fish comes up daily from Matthew Stevens at St Ives, the potatoes from farms within twenty miles, and between the restaurant and the takeaway window the shop turns over something like a hundred and eighty thousand customers a year. A sister shop, Frasers, works Penzance. Closed only for Christmas and a few days in January.
