Heathwood Nurseries grows trees, shrubs and hedging at The Meadows, Higher Heath, a few miles south of Whitchurch. Family-run and on the same North Shropshire site for more than forty years, it raises much of its stock from British seed as cell-grown, container-grown and field-grown plants, including root-balled trees and hedging. While a good deal of the business supplies garden centres, landscapers and estates wholesale, the nursery also sells direct to gardeners, both online and to visitors at the site. The emphasis is on home-grown, traceable native stock rather than bought-in imports, and staff can advise on species and planting.
