Kevin Collins opened his studio and gallery at 58 Church Street in Warrenpoint in May 2022, putting his own name above a door for the first time after two decades working as a handloom weaver and textile designer in the Northern Ireland linen industry. Collins, who grew up in the Mournes, paints in horizontal and vertical brushstrokes that echo his weaving background, giving finished canvases a woven, fabric-like texture. He is known in particular for night cityscapes worked in dark indigo, pale ochre and raw sienna, alongside views of the Mourne coastline and Carlingford Lough. The gallery shows his own paintings and prints for sale directly from the artist, with originals ranging from small studies to larger framed canvases. His work has gone into private and public collections beyond Ireland.
