Kith &Kin

Eve Jones runs Kith & Kin with her father on Park View, serving brunch and coffee since 2016. Eve trained as head chef and builds the short menu around locally sourced ingredients, changing dishes through the seasons rather than holding to a fixed card. The name is an old English phrase for one's friends and family, and the pair commissioned local illustrator Ashley Willerton to paint the shopfront sign. Weekday mornings bring people in before work; Saturdays stretch later for a full brunch sitting. The room is small, the counter close to the door, and coffee is ground to order rather than batch brewed. Kith & Kin sits among Whitley Bay's run of independent food shops on Park View, a short walk back from the seafront, and opens Monday to Saturday.
