Mumbles Art Shed is a ceramics workshop run by Sian Eleri Johns from a converted space behind 9 William Street, reached by a laneway at the side of the building or via the lane to the rear. Classes cover hand-building and decorating techniques for all ages, with materials and firing included in the course fee; participants are asked to bring their own apron or old shirt, since the workshop has no changing facilities, only hand-washing and sanitiser. Sessions run in small groups booked in advance through the studio's contact page rather than on a drop-in basis. The workshop sits down a lane off Mumbles' main shopping street, tucked behind the frontage rather than facing it directly, which keeps the kiln noise and clay dust away from passing trade.
