Oriel Jones

Oriel Jones butchers trades from Cowbridge Road East in Canton, selling beef, lamb and pork reared on the family's own farm at Llygadenwyn, near Llanybydder in Carmarthenshire. The shop is named after Oriel Jones, a farmer and meat trader born in 1930, and is run by his grandson Shaun, who gave up a teaching career to take on the family's livestock and butchery business. Meat is reared using regenerative grazing methods, and the shop aims to use as much of each animal as possible rather than a narrow set of premium cuts. Alongside fresh meat, it sells oven-ready meals such as casseroles and chilli, plus pies, pastries and filled rolls made on site, with local meat delivery across Cardiff.
