Crafty Devil started in 2014 in a garden shed in west Cardiff, where Adam Edinborough and Rhys Watkins brewed the first batches, and grew into one of the city's defining independent breweries. The Cellar, on Llandaff Road in Canton, is its taproom and bottle shop — the place to drink the beer where it is at its freshest, alongside a rotating guest list. They have kept it small and pointedly independent, a couple of microbars rather than an empire. In a beer scene increasingly bought up by bigger players, Crafty Devil has stayed the local alternative it set out to be. A brewery tap worth a detour to Canton.
