Michael and Pauline Hughes opened this Promenade gallery in 1985, and three generations of the family now run it, with son Darach and grandson Kaisen both working the floor. The premises holds a main gallery of original paintings by more than eighty Irish artists, a mezzanine trade showroom, a dedicated print store and an in-house framing workshop that also serves clients from the Glens. The stock runs beyond painting into antiquarian maps dating from 1550 to 1850, vintage movie posters, restored fountain pens from 1910 onward, and collectable marbles and trading cards. Michael Hughes serves as the Irish national representative for the International Map Collectors' Society. Framing is carried out to museum-grade standards on site, distinguishing the gallery from print-only outlets along the coast.
