Babushka KitchenCafe

Babushka sits on the South Pier at Portrush, a small café built almost onto the harbour wall, run by its owner since 2014 to a Slow Food principle: know where the food comes from. The sourdough is Ursa Minor's, the meat from Broughgammon, the eggs from Cavanagh — a supplier list that reads like a roll-call of the coast's best small producers. It does breakfast and lunch through the day and turns into a natural-wine bar on weekend evenings. With the Atlantic on three sides of it, it is the sort of café that makes the case for a whole region's food from one small room.
