Rye Museum Association, a charity, operates two accredited museums a short walk apart in Rye, East Sussex. Ypres Tower, a Scheduled Monument built in the 13th century, opens seven days a week year-round; with the Medieval Garden and Women's Tower it is known collectively as Rye Castle. Adults £5, under-16s free when accompanied. Down the hill, East Street Museum fills a 19th-century bottling plant, free to enter, open weekends from April to October. No regular state funding.
