The Little Shop is the only general store in Winchelsea, one of England's smallest and oldest chartered towns, stocking groceries, newspapers, local ale and cider and everyday essentials for a population of around 600. Facing an uncertain future under its previous owners, residents formed Winchelsea Community Shop Limited in late 2025 to bring the shop into community ownership and keep it trading.
