Suddenly on Sheaf Street is a bookshop opened in August 2023 by co-founder Joanna Clements in a sixteenth-century building on Daventry's Sheaf Street, shown on a 1571 map of the town as the Knightley family's townhouse. Since then it has also served as a furniture store, a radio and television shop and a women's clothing shop before its current life as a bookshop. The shelves hold more than nine thousand books and gifts, spanning contemporary fiction and non-fiction, alongside stationery and wool for knitting and crochet. The shop runs its own events, classes and author visits for customers with a range of interests beyond reading. It opens Tuesday to Saturday from nine until five, closing on Sundays and Mondays. The shop trades as a single independent site rather than part of a group.
