The Boathouse occupies a building licensed for more than three hundred years above Trevethan Hill, looking out over Falmouth Harbour, the Penryn River and the Carrick Roads. It is one of the few independent free houses remaining in the town, pouring Cornish ales alongside a list of more than thirty gins and twenty rums. Low ceilings and uneven floors attest to its age, and dogs are welcome throughout the bar and garden. The kitchen serves locally sourced, seasonal food, and the pub has been recognised in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and won regional pub of the year titles. A private function room shares the same water views. Under single ownership rather than part of a wider estate, it trades as Falmouth's own harbourside local.
