The Courtyard

The family that runs it serves breakfasts, lunches, cakes and cream teas made on site, with tables arranged around a small courtyard garden when weather allows. It has built a local following for its cooked breakfasts and daily cake selection, winning the Leicester Mercury's Best Coffee Shop award in 2025 and the Leicestershire Tourism & Hospitality Award for Best Tearoom/Coffee Shop in 2024, alongside TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice awards in 2022 and 2023. The café closes on Sundays and typically opens from mid-morning to mid-afternoon on other days. It operates as a single independent site in the town centre rather than part of a wider group, relying on repeat local trade and passing shoppers for custom.
