The FountaineInn

The Fountaine Inn occupies three stone cottages built in the 17th century on the green at Linton-in-Craven, a Grade II listed pub named after Richard Fountaine, a villager born in 1639 who made his fortune in London and later endowed the almshouse facing the green. Inside, three low-beamed rooms include a snug with high-backed settles around an open fire and a working example of the pub game ring the bull. The kitchen serves seasonal Yorkshire produce alongside a bar built around cask ale, and five guest bedrooms occupy the upper floor. Set beside Linton Beck and its old packhorse bridge, the inn is run as a single, independent house rather than part of a wider group, five minutes from Grassington.
