The Old Malthouse Bakery occupies a malthouse building around two hundred and sixty years old down Mill Lane in Wimborne Minster, close to the river and a short walk from the Minster itself. It is run by David and Ann and their son Stefan, who bake everything sold in the shop on the premises in a traditional wood-fired oven, including bread, pastries and pies. The bakery has built a local reputation for straightforward, proper bread rather than a wide gift or deli range, and produce is baked fresh each morning rather than delivered in from elsewhere. It keeps short opening hours, trading only four mornings a week, which reflects the rhythm of a small bakehouse rather than a retail-driven operation. There is no dedicated website; customers reach the bakery through its Facebook page and word of mouth around the town, and by simply calling in on Mill Lane.
