The Pot Still is a whisky bar on Hope Street in Glasgow city centre, close to Central Station. A pub has traded on the site since the 1860s, first as a spirits merchant and later as McCalls; the current whisky-focused format and name date from 1981. The Murphy family took over in 2011 and has run it since, building a gantry that now holds more than 1,000 whiskies, mostly Scottish single malts alongside blends, grain whiskies, and a smaller selection from Japan, the Netherlands and elsewhere. The interior keeps its traditional dark-wood bar rather than any modern refit. Staff are known for guiding customers through the range, from a first dram to rarer bottlings for collectors. The bar draws a mix of regulars, whisky enthusiasts and visitors, and Scottish trade publications have repeatedly named it whisky bar of the year.
