The Wood Shed has supplied woodturners from its Lowtown Road premises in Templepatrick since 1992, stocking native and imported timber alongside turning tools, chucks, finishes and safety equipment. The shop deals in blanks and boards cut for bowl turning, spindle work and pen making, holding species from home-grown sycamore and oak through to exotic hardwoods bought in for specific projects. Alongside timber, the counter carries lathes, chisels, sharpening equipment and project accessories aimed at hobbyists and professional turners alike, and staff advise on tool choice and wood selection for particular jobs. The business has run under family ownership since it opened, building its stock list around what turners in Northern Ireland actually ask for rather than a generic supplier range. It remains one of the few dedicated woodturning suppliers in the region, serving customers from across County Antrim and beyond who order by phone as well as calling in.
