West Country Water Buffalo, trading as Buffalicious, is run by Jonathan Corpe and his family from Higher Oakley Farm near Yeovil, where they keep a herd of around 250 water buffalo. The animals graze Somerset pasture through the warmer months and are housed indoors over winter, fed largely on forage grown on the farm rather than bought-in feed. Milk from the herd is made into a British take on buffalo mozzarella, produced on site, which took gold in the Global Cheese Awards in 2021. The farm also sells raw buffalo milk, ice cream made in-house, and slow-reared buffalo meat, including subscription Buff Boxes for delivery by courier. A farm shop at Higher Oakley Farm sells the full range direct to visitors, open six days a week, with the family emphasising traceability from pasture to product.
