Woodmento

Woodmento operates from a workshop unit on the Drumharvey Industrial Estate outside Irvinestown, where George Brain and Gigi Potter make hand-built wooden boxes finished with marquetry inlay. Brain trained in woodworking and three-dimensional design before spending twenty years building film sets, with Potter as his business partner in that industry, before the pair relocated from Cape Town to set up Woodmento in Fermanagh. Each box is built and inlaid by hand on site rather than mass-produced, with designs ranging from classic panelled patterns to contemporary geometric work. Pieces are sold through their own studio, on Etsy, and through stockists including Omagh Craft Collective and Stone Row Artisans in Coleraine. The workshop keeps regular opening hours, Monday to Saturday, for anyone calling in.
