Beartown Tap

Beartown Tap has served Willow Street in Congleton since 1999, originally opened as the tap room for the town's Beartown Brewery, sited around three hundred yards away, before passing into independent ownership. The pub keeps six cask ales from Beartown alongside guest beers, and was named Pub of the Year 2020/21 by the Macclesfield and East Cheshire branch of CAMRA. It is a single, free-standing pub with no sister branches, distinct in ownership from the brewery whose beer it still pours. The taproom and terrace continue to draw on Beartown's long association with Congleton, and the pub has featured in successive editions of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide.
