Broadway Bookshop

Jane Howe opened the Broadway Bookshop in 2005 after working at bookshops in Notting Hill, including Elgin Books and the Travel Bookshop. The shop occupies a narrow frontage at 6 Broadway Market that opens into a longer room lined with literary fiction, poetry and short stories, plus a children's section at the back. Howe stocks by hand rather than by algorithm, and hosts author readings and launches in the shop. It has held the same spot through the 2008 recession and the changes Broadway Market went through around the 2012 Olympics, without adding a cafe counter or moving into e-readers. Online orders are collected in person rather than posted out.
