Carters Workshop

Carters Workshop operates from 1A Lawrence Street in the Lower Ormeau area of Belfast, a family-run joinery producing bespoke furniture, staircases and interior fit-outs for residential and commercial clients. The business draws on more than 30 years of combined joinery experience and works mainly in solid wood, occasionally bringing in specialist blacksmiths or stone carvers for larger commissions that combine materials. Pieces are built to order from an initial consultation rather than supplied from stock or catalogue, covering everything from fitted cabinetry to single furniture commissions designed around a client's brief. The workshop sits close to Ormeau Park and the Gasworks site, within reach of the Ormeau Road and Botanic areas. Carters takes on both new-build fit-out contracts and smaller furniture-making jobs, with enquiries handled directly by the workshop rather than through a retail showroom. Visits to see work in progress are arranged by appointment.
