Cathedral House is a small independent hotel in an 1896 Scottish Baronial building on Cathedral Square, next to Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis. It was originally built as a hostel for women released from the nearby Duke Street Prison, and later served the cathedral itself as a hall for choir practice, Sunday school and staff accommodation. Laura and Shane McKenzie bought the building in October 2018 after running a bed and breakfast elsewhere in Glasgow, and renovated it into an eight-room hotel, keeping baronial details such as turrets and stonework while updating interiors room by room. Rooms are grouped informally into grand, classic, cosy and loft categories, each individually decorated. Food and drink is provided through a partnership with an on-site Italian restaurant rather than a hotel kitchen of its own.
